"未入籍证明" took very long time in my case, so don't count on it. i guess "加急RENEW枫叶卡" is the way or you can check with Chinese General Consulate to see if you can apply for a travel doc(then you will apply for a new passport in china and apply for travel doc from Canadian to return)

谢谢回复，明天一早会打电话跟他们问问。您的情况是等到了未入籍证明才去换发护照的吗？试没试过凭有效枫叶卡去申请换发护照？有些疑问是因为刚才搜了一下又有人说不需要未入籍证明。再次感谢。

yes i did wait for the citizen status search.. bc that's what the consular website said required. but i heard the pr card was accepted too.

千万别话冤枉钱去办未入籍证明，中国大使馆不认这个，他们只看有效地枫叶卡。我就是白花了70刀，完了继续等待8个多月renew我的枫叶卡，然后更新的护照。
