工作学习 / 求学深造 / I got an admission to a Master of Engineering program of the department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at University of Toronto.Of course, no financial support and fellowship will be provided for the M.Eng. program. It is worth studying for this program using my own money?
Please give me a suggestion. Thanks in advance. You can email at dixon_721@yahoo.com, or just post here.

Thanks for your reply. Please see the email from U of T. Although money is not a problem to me, I feel disappointed about their decision. Maybe I will reject it.

1 where are u? 2,looks like it is a course-oriented MEng, probably there is no RA for now, but 3
rules can be bent, as long as u talked to prof and he/she OKs to finance you somehow, situation can be better. 4 MEng is more competitive than phd (post hole digger :-)) in job market

Thank you for your info.I am currently in Singapore and will arrive in Toronto on June 24 as a new immigrant. A professor of U of T will interview me right after I get there. I contacted him in April. He asked me to call or send email to him to arrange an appointment.
I will contact McGill and McMaster to check the processing status.
Thanks a lot. You can email me at dixon_721@yahoo.com.
Nice to talk with you.

Why reject? You can ask for award later.

It should be a course-oriented program. I don't think it is worthwhile if you can not get any financial support.

You'd better register as a part-time student and find a job to support your study if possible.
