本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I always now seem to have a bottle of this on my dressing table. I have suffered from eczema since birth but it improved radically as I matured. Sometimes however I do suffer from allergies. I am allergic I have been told to all the different forms of dust!. I am have some food intolerances including yeast and peanuts. As I also get hayfever which begins around this time of year for some people including myself, all these factors can combine to irritate my skin on my neck and arms particularly.
I find that Calamine has been very helpful when I get skin rashes on my arms and neck. As I want to go out sometimes when I have “thrown loads of white stuff” over my neck, I let it dry and then put foundation on top. If you mix it carefully you can look relatively normal when you leave the house on these occasions!!!.
The bottle I am looking at now is Superdrug's own and 200ml worth. It says on the label that it soothes skin rashes and sunburn. I have not used it specifically for sunburn but I can imagine how it would take the heat out of the problem as it does this for me with allergy. The bottle is brown with a white lid and has a white and blue label with a green leaf and around the leaf are the words soothe and heal.
It tells you on the back of the label that it is a soothing and protective lotion for the relief of sunburn, skin rashes and irritation. It provides instructions below this information for use: For children, adults and the elderly. Shake the bottle well. Apply with cotton wool to the affected area as required.
Below this is a warning to keep out of the reach of children and for external use only (to stop you drinking it). It also warns: Do not use on broken skin or if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients. (You may only discover you have an allergy to the ingredients upon use of it of course).
It lists the Active Ingredients below all the above. Calamine BP 15%, Zinc Oxide BP 5%, Other ingredients: Bentonite BP, Liquefied Phenol BP, E331, E422, Purified Water.
The Manufacturers are Bell Sons & Co (Druggists) Ltd, Southport.
What they don't tell you?
The Calamine lotion is not that easy to apply as once the bottle is opened it is necessary to get a knife or other long implement to stir it up so it will come out of the bottle again.
Once it is on the skin it can be washed off but tends to go flaky and make quite a bit of mess that way.
The lotion itself is white and does not in itself blend into the skin or sink in or moisturise. It goes like a thin mask, flaky, dry and makes skin especially dry skin feel tight.
What is right with it?
It takes the heat out of inflammation giving immediate relief.
Along with taking out the heat, it removes the itch as a "by product".
It lasts quite a few uses.
It is quite pure and there are not that many ingredients in it.
Children, The Elderly and Adults can be attended with it.
There are not that many products in this range. I suppose After Sun is one but that does not double up as an anti-allergy product if memory serves.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
