google work, for your information:When Should I Use an Emergency Department in The Scarborough Hospital?

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛When Should I Use an Emergency Department?
Approximately 25 to 30 per cent of patients who visit the Emergency Department each year could have received proper care from their family doctor or at a Walk-In or After-Hours Clinic. If you know you just have a cold or minor health problem, see your family doctor or attend a clinic first. However, if you have any of the following health concerns, you should visit the nearest Emergency Department.

For Adults and Children:

* Moderate to severe stomach pain (7+ on a scale of 1 to 10)
* Problems breathing
* Chest pain
* Loss of consciousness
* Broken bone(s)
* Deep cut(s)
* Car accident
* Head injury
* Physical collapse
* Any type of severe pain

For Children:

* High fever
* Babies who have not been feeding well
* Diarrhea or vomiting
* Inactivity, compared to usual activity levels

What Is An Emergency?
Sometimes it's difficult to know whether your problem is minor or serious. Here are some examples of when you should come to the Emergency Department:

* When you are experiencing pains or tightness in the chest;
* When there has been an injury that may involve a broken bone or may require stitches;
* When you have severe pain or shortness of breath;
* If your child has diarrhea and vomiting and won't eat or drink;
* When a baby under six months has a fever of 38 degrees Celsius or 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, or higher.

What About Minor Problems?
There are several options available to ensure that you not only save time, but also get the care you need:

* Call your family doctor;
* Visit an After Hours Clinic at any hospital.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

        • 哈哈,原来有此典故,终于明白了。
    • 加国医院哪,加国医院...我老婆INFECTION然后发高烧,进了医院一直等了6,7个小时直到她自己退了烧也不让走,直到我们搬出宝贝没吃的才放人,负责倒是负责,真是不知道该抱怨谁
      • 看来发烧之类的事情还是不要去医院的好
        • 因为她那是突然就发高烧,症状不象普通的发烧,所以才去的;要是普通的,还真不如在家呆着,那医院里还真是冷
        • 发烧都是有原因的,去医院的主要目的是检查有没有其他病症,比如肺炎之类的。

            • 我是学乖了,先打TELEHEALTH,再决定去不去医院;前段时间这TELEHEALTH电话也爆忙起来(要HOLD就要HOLD30分钟,要么留下电话,他门说会打过来),要是孩子有什么事情,谁还有耐心等啊
      • 埋怨公有制,大锅饭,垄断,自私和黑心的洋人文化。
        • mamma mia, are you giving us a comedy show? @_@
    • You are luck in Canada. If you are in U.S. without insurance, you will die, and nobody care.
      • well, in US, I will pay insurance. I pay tax here. insurance or tax, same thing from ur pocket with different name.
        • General speaking, to pay medical insurance in US, you need be with a good company. Without a job, you cannot afforded to pay medical insurance. In Canada, even homeless people are covered. Be appreciate.
      • 不要误导人家,美国也是没有钱急诊给先治疗的。加拿大是有钱都得等死。
        • I have lived in US about 6 years, 2 years without medical insurance and had to deal with doctors and hospitals. I do not think you have ever lived in US without medical insurance. What I said is ture and 不是误导人家.
          • 确实是这样。 不少美国人还羡慕加拿大。 看样子, 各国的医疗体制都有不尽意的地方
        • 嘿嘿, 有个朋友在美国摔断了胳膊送急诊, 医生当然给治, 但告诉他按免费的治法他的胳膊从此就伸不直了. 结果家人送了上万美金过去, 才算治完整
    • 中国的医院体制也弊端多多。 这个新闻就很耸人听闻
