OS:WIN2000 SERVER(english version)
hardware: 1 nic; 4 port hub&nic(a PCI slot nic with 4 port to uplink and downlink which can be used as hub and nic).
WORKSTATION 1&2 :
WIN98 (simply chinese version)
hardware: 1 nic/each computer
detect the all parameters of your local Rogers server(ipconfig /all) and record them.
server config: DHCP->SCOPE 192.0.0.0---192.0.0.8
name your home network Domain: whateven you like.
add users: name and password;
important process: open the nic's connection properties by which you get internet access, choice the sharing. ( I named each of 2 nics by homenet and internet. So, i choiced the internet).
everything seems okey, then you have to work at your workstation.
at the properties of the nic's TCP/IP. named DSN as home(in my case); DNS's ip as same as Rogers DNS's. define the domain as your server. click the automatic get IP.
so, you can start to enjoy your internet surfing by free of charge in your home network.
by the way, recently, the virus of red worm is sweeping on the internet, I have already got infacted at very first time when I just setup the Win2000 server(IIS). because the virus just infect IIS. I don't know why Rogers let the virus go through all over his network freely. but no worry about it, you can download the debug software at MS' website anyway.
thanks for everybody, hope it will help your work.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
