Many of visitors in this forum are programmers. All of them know that hands-on experiences are very important in job hunting. If you browse the requirements for some postions, however, you may see the phrase "hands off" or "hand off". This is especially true for some high positions, such as architect and lead developer. Sometimes, the empolyeer may state that this position will 50% hands off. It means that if you are hired, you are going to spend half of your working time on coding, and another half on high-level things such as design, mentoring and software evaluations.
